Refrigeration Technician

Earn $30.00 to $70.00 per hour while servicing commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVACR systems. You will receive a company vehicle, gas card, company phone, tool account, and ongoing training while working with compressors, refrigeration controls, PLCs, electrical systems, and ammonia and synthetic refrigeration equipment.

What You’ll Do

• Work from the Aurora, Colorado office location and travel to customer sites for commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVACR service

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain industrial refrigeration and HVACR systems

• Perform hot and cold compressor and motor alignments

• Service and repair reciprocating, scroll, rotary, and screw compressors

• Complete compressor rebuilds and shaft seal replacements

• Diagnose refrigeration system issues using electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic testing equipment

• Install and service expansion valves, control valves, and other refrigeration components

• Use oxy acetylene equipment for refrigeration system repairs and installations

• Install wiring and electrical connections for refrigeration equipment and controls

• Test refrigeration lines, components, and connections for leaks

• Perform startup and commissioning of ammonia and synthetic refrigeration systems

• Troubleshoot computerized refrigeration controls, PLCs, microprocessors, and control panels

• Build strong customer relationships through professional service and clear communication

• Accurately complete work orders, service documentation, and timecards using SimPRO

• Obtain required customer approvals and signatures before leaving job sites

• Keep the company vehicle, truck stock, tools, and equipment organized and properly maintained

• Generate purchase orders and coordinate materials needed to complete service work

• Remain involved with projects through completion while collaborating with customers and team members

• Work overtime and participate in on call rotations as needed to support customer operations

Must Haves

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of HVACR experience

• EPA 608 Certification required

• Trade school education or equivalent hands on experience in refrigeration, HVACR, or a related field

• Experience troubleshooting refrigeration systems, compressors, motors, controls, and electrical components

• Ability to diagnose and repair commercial or industrial refrigeration equipment

• Willingness to learn industrial ammonia refrigeration through company provided training

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and system documentation

• Excellent communication skills when working with customers, vendors, and team members

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

• Ability to obtain and maintain Universal EPA Certification requirements if additional credentials are needed

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

• Ability to work in industrial environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to refrigeration related materials

• Willingness to work overtime, on call schedules, and flexible hours to support customer needs

Preferred Requirements

• CARO or CIRO, RETA Certification, preferred

• Knowledge of reciprocating, scroll, rotary, and screw compressors preferred

• Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus but not required
