Precision Assembler / Industrial Equipment Repair Technician
First Shift: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Role Summary
Flowserve is seeking a hands-on Industrial Precision Assembler to assemble, disassemble, inspect, repair, and rebuild large industrial equipment including pumps, valves, actuators, and other rotating equipment. This is not a light production assembly role. Successful candidates will have experience working on heavy industrial machinery and must be comfortable handling large components using overhead cranes, rigging equipment, hydraulic tools, and precision measuring instruments.
The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, industrial repair experience, and the ability to safely move, inspect, troubleshoot, and rebuild large equipment in a manufacturing or repair environment.
What You'll Do
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble large industrial pumps, valves, actuators, and rotating equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, repair specifications, and work instructions.
• Utilize overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and lifting devices to safely move large industrial components.
• Perform mechanical assembly and rebuild activities involving bearings, shafts, seals, housings, couplings, impellers, and hydraulic components.
• Conduct inspections using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and dial indicators.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify worn or damaged components requiring repair or replacement.
• Perform pressure testing, functional testing, and quality inspections to ensure equipment meets customer specifications.
• Operate hydraulic torque tools, lifting equipment, and other industrial maintenance tools.
• Maintain accurate repair documentation and inspection records.
• Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support shop productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial mechanical assembly, equipment repair, maintenance, millwright work, pump repair, valve repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or rotating equipment service.
• Experience working with large industrial components and heavy mechanical assemblies.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, hoists, rigging equipment, or other material handling equipment.
• Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy components utilizing approved lifting equipment.
• Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to utilize precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working around large industrial equipment in a shop environment.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when business needs require.

Ideal Candidate Profile
This role is best suited for candidates who have experience:
Rebuilding pumps, valves, gearboxes, compressors, or rotating equipment
Using overhead cranes and rigging equipment to move heavy machinery
Performing industrial equipment teardown, inspection, and rebuilds
Reading mechanical drawings and repair specifications
Working in heavy manufacturing, maintenance, repair, or industrial service environments
Not intended for candidates whose experience is primarily production assembly, warehouse operations, packaging, or light manufacturing assembly.
