Job Description


As a Security Officer Level III Certified Armed Patrol in Austin, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer at a dynamic education location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment through strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will bring integrity, teamwork, and reliability to every interaction while responding to site needs with an agile, people-first approach.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

Tue03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Wed03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Thur03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Fri03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, including situations that may require an armed presence in accordance with post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor access points and activity across the location, document observations and incidents, and communicate with local leadership and/or first responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
  • Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
  • An Armed Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
