Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm ( half day TBD)
Novant Health Lakeside Physicians Denver is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will partner closely with providers and the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective care while creating an exceptional experience for every patient.
The Certified Medical Assistant coordinates and assists providers to ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients within the practice population. This position supports efficient clinical operations while delivering outstanding customer service and compassionate care throughout the patient visit.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
- Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
- Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
- Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
- Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and documenting information accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Assist providers during examinations and office procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks within scope of practice, including medication administration, injections, specimen collection, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as appropriate.
- Coordinate patient flow to promote timely and efficient care.
- Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions as directed by the provider.
- Schedule diagnostic testing, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
