2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic – Start Time 2:00 PM | Join Waste Connections

What You’ll Do as a 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic
In this role, you’ll perform essential fleet maintenance and diesel truck repair to keep our drivers safe and our operations running smoothly. Responsibilities include:
- Performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel vehicles
- Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
- Using onboard vehicle diagnostic systems to interpret failure codes and adjust engine/vehicle control modules
- Responding to road calls and conducting emergency repairs
- Reviewing and completing repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)
- Documenting work using fleet maintenance software
- Test-driving vehicles after repairs
- Supporting teammates with complex repairs
- Interacting professionally with drivers
- Maintaining a clean and safe shop environment compliant with OSHA standards
- Performing additional maintenance duties as needed
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this 2nd shift diesel mechanic role, you should bring:
Hands-on experience with diesel truck diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs
Hydraulic system experience (preferred but not required)
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.
