Automation Machine Tool Electrician Requirements & Qualifications


  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical repair of machine tools and related equipment
  • Proficiency with equipment such as Okuma, G&L, Mazak, Lamb, Landis, Waldrich Coburg, Ingersoll, Toyoda, P&H cranes, ABB robots, and similar machinery
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC, PLC, and relay logic-controlled machines (controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Modicon, Indramat)
  • Experience with AC/DC analog and digital drives
  • Ability to interpret machine tool prints and schematics at an intermediate or higher level
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to operate standard tools for repairs
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed

Automation Machine Tool Electrician Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of domestic and foreign machine tools and related equipment
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control issues on CNC, PLC, and relay logic machines
  • Maintain and repair ancillary equipment, including cranes, hoists, conveyors, furnaces, washers, and robots
  • Conduct repairs involving analog and digital drive systems and feedback devices
  • Interpret schematics and prints to perform complex repairs with precision
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and maintenance goals in a clean, safe, and supportive environment
