Position Overview
Preferred Therapy Center is in search of a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our passionate and dynamic rehabilitation team in Sacramento, California. Work Environment
This full-time position is situated within a hospital setting, where you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Working primarily Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, occasional flexibility may be necessary to accommodate patient needs and optimize clinic operations. You will find our facility equipped with modern rehabilitation technology and resources that enhance the patient care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Physical Therapist in crafting and implementing individualized treatment plans, focusing primarily on enhancing patients' mobility, strength, coordination, and overall functionality.
- Guide patients through a variety of therapeutic exercises and activities designed to aid in their recovery while ensuring they understand the techniques to maximize effectiveness.
- Educate patients regarding proper body mechanics and effective home exercise programs to support continued improvement in their condition.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, working under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to help manage pain and improve function.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking improvements in range of motion, strength, and specific rehabilitation goals.
- Maintain an organized and efficient treatment area, preparing equipment and supplies as needed to ensure seamless session experiences.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care management, integrating insights from various specialists to maximize treatment efficacy.
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients, fostering a therapeutic environment that motivates and engages them throughout their rehabilitation process.
- Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines and professional standards, ensuring patient confidentiality and respect for their rights at all times.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
- An Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- A valid state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

Compensation and Benefits
