Position Overview
Med Lake Chiropractic and Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team in Grass Valley, California. In this full-time role, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services, playing an essential role in improving the health and well-being of our patients.

Work Environment
This role will take place in a hospital setting, allowing you to work in an environment equipped with advanced technology and therapy tools. You will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse patient population, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care within an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Scheduled hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans as directed by a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring that interventions align with patient goals.
- Prepare treatment areas by setting up and maintaining therapy equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Monitor patient progress during therapy sessions, recording developments and communicating relevant insights to the therapy team to adjust plans as necessary.
- Assist with essential clinic operations, including patient intake, appointment scheduling, and administrative duties to streamline workflow.
- Educate patients and their families about exercises and techniques to improve recovery rates and maintain engagement in their therapy programs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patients primarily include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you’ll work with a diverse demographic, including adolescents, adults, and older adults, tailoring therapeutic interventions to accommodate each individual’s recovery journey. Your role is crucial in providing compassionate care and motivation, helping patients navigate their path to recovery.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
- Two years of experience in an outpatient or similar healthcare setting, specifically in orthopedic rehab.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly WebPT, to manage patient documentation efficiently.
- Strong manual therapy skills and a genuine passion for patient care and rehabilitation.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of experience is required, candidates with additional expertise in specialized therapeutic techniques or certifications in advanced manual therapy will be highly considered. Experience with patient education and engagement strategies will also be advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
Med Lake Chiropractic and Physical Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and expertise. In addition to a comprehensive salary package, our benefits include:
