In-House Counsel – Stamford, CT


A growing specialty finance company is seeking an attorney to serve as in-house counsel, partnering closely with executive leadership. This is a hands-on opportunity for a legal professional who wants to influence business growth and help shape the future of a dynamic financial services organization.


In-House Counsel Benefits & Compensation


  • Competitive base salary ($130,000–$190,000)

In-House Counsel Requirements & Qualifications


  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active Connecticut Bar admission required (New York Bar admission a plus)
  • At least 1 year of experience in commercial law, business litigation, creditors' rights, collections, commercial finance, or in-house legal practice
  • Strong drafting, review, and negotiation skills for contracts and commercial agreements
  • Ability to manage multiple legal matters independently


In-House Counsel Preferred Background & Skills


  • Experience with UCC Article 9, commercial finance, or alternative lending
  • Familiarity with collections and creditor enforcement strategies


In-House Counsel Day-to-Day Responsibilities


  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial and financing agreements
  • Prepare and manage UCC filings, including amendments and terminations
  • Conduct lien searches and monitor collateral positions
  • Support litigation and collections in coordination with outside counsel
  • Advise on regulatory compliance, licensing, and corporate governance
  • Provide legal guidance for employment matters, including contracts and HR policies
  • Serve as the primary legal advisor to leadership across general business operations
