Key Responsibilities
In your role as a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will:
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment programs aligned with each patient's therapeutic objectives.
- Provide hands-on therapeutic services, employing techniques such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities as per the treatment plan.
- Educate patients and their families about specific exercises and activities aimed at improving mobility and strengthening muscles.
- Continuously monitor, document, and report patient progress during therapy sessions, adjusting approaches as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with a diverse healthcare team, which includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists, to ensure integrated and comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize evidence-based practices and trigger point therapy techniques when appropriate, tailoring your approach to each patient's unique needs.
- Provide support for occupational health initiatives within our facility, contributing to workplace safety and rehabilitation.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clinic serves a varied patient population, including individuals recovering from surgical procedures, athletes seeking rehabilitation after injuries, and older adults managing chronic pain or mobility issues. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.
- An active PTA state license in New York.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Proficient in manual therapy techniques, with a good understanding of therapeutic modalities.
- The ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate compassion towards patients and their families.
Preferred Experience
Additional experience in a hospital setting or with specific patient demographics, such as post-operative recovery or sports rehabilitation, is highly desirable, though not mandatory. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is also beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
