Fitness Quest Physical Health Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team in our orthopedic outpatient office located in Palm City, Florida. This full-time position plays a critical role in patient rehabilitation by supporting Physical Therapists in executing effective treatment plans, ensuring high-quality patient care, and fostering an environment of support and recovery.

Work Environment

The role of the PTA will take place onsite at our well-equipped hospital facility, where our specialized orthopedic outpatient focus allows us to cater to a diverse range of patients. The work schedule includes a Monday to Friday shift from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with an option for four 10-hour shifts, ensuring no weekend work. This setup offers an excellent work-life balance while allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans by guiding patients through prescribed exercises and utilizing manual therapy techniques.
• Evaluate and document patient progress accurately, communicating updates and any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain and organize treatment areas and rehabilitation equipment to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
• Support the daily operations of the clinic, which includes scheduling appointments, processing patient intake, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
• Conduct assessments focusing on movement, balance, and coordination, aiding in program adjustments and maximizing rehabilitation outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In the role of PTA, you will work closely with a diverse group of patients, primarily adults undergoing rehabilitation following orthopedic procedures, sports injuries, or chronic pain conditions. Your ability to provide compassionate and clear communication will enhance patient education and engagement, fostering a supportive recovery journey tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited institution.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Florida.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient or comparable clinical setting is essential.
• Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as WebPT, ensuring accurate documentation and patient tracking.
• Hands-on experience and a strong foundation in manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation exercises.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills to facilitate effective patient interactions and education.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic outpatient environment.
• Familiarity with various rehabilitation modalities and techniques, contributing to a comprehensive treatment approach.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 60,000 – 70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
