Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to drive profitable growth and expand U.S. market share for engineered sealing solutions.
  • Identify and develop new customers, applications, markets, and revenue opportunities while expanding business with existing strategic accounts.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities from initial identification through technical evaluation, quotation, negotiation, commercial award, and transition to production.
  • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineering teams, procurement organizations, OEMs, end users, and strategic industry partners, positioning Freudenberg Flow Technologies as a trusted technical partner.
  • Understand customer applications, operating conditions, performance requirements, and business challenges to identify and develop differentiated, value-added engineered sealing solutions.
  • Lead customer discussions and commercial negotiations involving pricing, technical requirements, commercial terms, specifications, and long-term supply opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Application Engineering, Sales, Product Management, Operations, Quality, Marketing, and global teams to evaluate opportunities and develop commercially viable customer solutions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer needs, and emerging applications to identify growth opportunities and provide actionable market intelligence to internal stakeholders and leadership.
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity, opportunity pipelines, forecasts, business development plans, KPIs, and regular leadership updates on customer activity, risks, competitive intelligence, and growth opportunities.
  • Apply value-based selling and sound commercial practices to support pricing, margin improvement, commercial excellence, and sustainable profitable growth while ensuring alignment with company policies, strategic priorities, and Freudenberg’s Guiding Principles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related technical or commercial discipline; engineering or other technical degree preferred.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, sales engineering, or strategic account management within engineered products, manufacturing, or industrial markets.
  • Experience with engineered sealing solutions strongly preferred, including sealing technologies, materials, applications, and performance requirements; experience with mechanical seals, elastomers, polymers, gaskets, expansion joints, rotating equipment, fluid handling, or similar engineered products is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business, penetrating new accounts, and converting technically complex opportunities into profitable revenue growth.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand customer applications, operating conditions, specifications, drawings, and performance requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Experience building relationships and working directly with OEMs, end users, engineering organizations, EPCs, distributors, and technical and commercial decision-makers.
  • Strong pipeline management, CRM, forecasting, negotiation, presentation, communication, and value-selling skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex and long-cycle opportunities independently.
    Ability to collaborate effectively within a global, cross-functional manufacturing or engineering organization and travel domestically and internationally as required.
