Full job description
A well-established general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial and vertical construction projects throughout Hawaii. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to keep projects organized, on schedule, within budget, and compliant with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project administration, contracts, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, permits, and change orders.
- Assist with estimating, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and progress reporting.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, materials, deliveries, and field activities.
- Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Support quality control, safety, and self-performed work.
- Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with field issues and project coordination.
- Maintain strong communication with owners, architects, consultants, trades, and vendors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- 4+ years of construction experience, preferably with a general contractor.
- Experience with commercial, residential, hospitality, healthcare, renovation, or other vertical construction preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Bluebeam and Adobe preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as project demands require.
- Ability to work at various project sites throughout Hawaii.

Starting Salary: $85,000/year
