Full job description
Duties: The Northport VA Healthcare System is seeking an experienced, full-time non-invasive Cardiologist (M.D. or D.O.) who is Board Eligible. Duties include overseeing all aspects of cardiac care delivered to referred patients and participating in daily ambulatory/outpatient Cardiology clinic services at our Northport VA Healthcare Systems VA Medical Center. The Cardiologist will consult, manage, and provide education and counseling to veterans in preventative care and apply evidence-based care for various cardiac conditions while supervising comprehensive outpatient cardiac procedures. The facility can perform a wide variety of outpatient Cardiology services, including EKG and Arrhythmia monitoring interpretation, echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacologic stress echocardiograms, Transesophageal echocardiograms, and cardioversions. The Cardiologist will establish a professional relationship with clinical service providers within the outpatient center, provide telephone and curbside consultations, and screen consultative and procedural requests for appropriateness.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM -4:30 PM
Salary up to $400K plus incentives.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply
