Department: Quality
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary

The Quality Technician is responsible for receiving, in-process, and final inspections of materials, assemblies, and finished products. This position ensures that products meet applicable quality standards, blueprints, and work order specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect materials and assemblies received from outside suppliers.
  • Inspect in-process and finished products.
  • Inspect welded joints and assemblies for compliance with applicable welding standards, blueprints, and work order specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately.
  • Partner with the Quality Department and other departments to communicate and resolve nonconformances and other quality-related issues.
  • Investigate and help resolve quality problems.
  • Maintain positive, courteous, and respectful interactions with customers, vendors, field sales representatives, and coworkers.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
  • Vocational education in electromechanical technology or a similar field preferred.
  • High mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Ability to operate measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
  • CMM operating experience preferred.
  • One to three years of quality control or similar experience preferred.
  • One to three years of welding inspection experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of AWS D14.0 preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Additional Information
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
  • Mix of sitting, standing, and walking throughout an eight-hour shift.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 65 pounds.
  • Good eyesight, either natural or corrected.
  • Occasional stooping and squatting.
