PCB/Substrate Manufacturing Dry Process Technician Intern

Position Summary and Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured, supervised internship as a PCB/Substrate Manufacturing Dry Process Technician intern.
• Apply related community college coursework to hands-on manufacturing assignments under the direction of a qualified mentor.
• Follow cleanroom, manufacturing safety, quality, and documentation requirements.
• Learn the PCB/substrate manufacturing flow, with emphasis on high-layer and high-reliability products.
• Observe, operate, and monitor assigned dry-process equipment in accordance with approved procedures and level of authorization.
• Build foundational exposure to imaging processes, including photoresist and dry film.
• Gain exposure to lamination activities, laser drilling, mechanical CNC drilling, and other relevant processes.
• Perform or assist with basic metrology and measurement of trace width, spacing, and via quality.
• Support equipment checks and basic preventive-maintenance activities as assigned.
• Participate in troubleshooting and process-improvement projects spanning multiple competencies.
• Demonstrate professional conduct, communication, teamwork, attendance, and responsiveness to mentor feedback.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at an accredited community college in a program providing coursework aligned to electronics fundamentals, blueprint reading, metrology and quality, manufacturing math and Excel, CNC/laser basics, workplace safety, and Microsoft Office.

• Coursework, lab experience, or demonstrated interest in electronics, advanced manufacturing, PCB fabrication, semiconductor manufacturing, machining, CNC systems, lasers, metrology, quality, or a related technical field.

• Ability to read and follow written procedures, basic drawings or blueprints, safety rules, quality requirements, and mentor direction in a manufacturing environment.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Word; PowerPoint familiarity preferred.

• Basic math, measurement, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively and reliably in a professional manufacturing setting.

• Demonstrate professional conduct, communication, teamwork, attendance, and responsiveness to mentor feedback.

• Availability to participate in the employer-defined internship schedule and any required safety or site training.

• Eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualification

• Successful completion of relevant introductory college laboratory courses and a faculty recommendation or equivalent evidence of readiness.
