Get to Know Your Team: The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, a part of a rich legacy of compassionate care since 1909, now offers 378 licensed beds, a history of innovation, and strong community support. Responsibilities: Responsible for decontamination, correct assembly and sterile processing of all instruments used in the operating room and ambulatory/specialty clinics. Demonstrates an understanding of procedures required for decontamination and terminal sterilization of instrumentation while instituting protective measures. Practices all infection control standards regarding proper cleaning and sterilization of all instrumentation. Understands and follows defined sterilization practices for all instrumentation to assure proper and approved sterilization. Assists in the facilitation of the OR schedule by proper prioritizing of instrument set needs, including ancillary departments. Track instrument sets and pouches on the proper sterilization record. Qualifications: Job Requirements: High school or equivalent education.
