Job Details
We are seeking an attorney to join our employment and labor practice with a focus on advising and representing management in workplace and labor relations matters. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with employers on complex labor issues, workforce management strategies, employment law compliance, and business-driven legal solutions.
The ideal candidate enjoys client counseling, practical problem-solving, and developing long-term relationships with business clients while handling sophisticated labor and employment matters.
Responsibilities
Advise employers on labor relations, workforce management, and employment law matters
Counsel clients regarding union-related issues, employee relations concerns, and compliance obligations
Assist clients with labor strategy, collective workforce issues, and workplace policy development
Provide guidance regarding federal and state employment laws and regulations
Draft legal memoranda, policies, correspondence, and employment-related documents
Conduct legal research and prepare written analyses on complex workplace issues
Support employers in labor disputes, administrative matters, and employment-related proceedings
Participate in client meetings, training initiatives, and advisory projects
Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and practical legal counsel
Contribute to business development and client service initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of labor and employment law experience
Experience representing employers in labor relations and workplace matters
Knowledge of labor law, employment law, and workforce management principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication abilities
Strong drafting and legal research capabilities
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and provide practical advice
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Illinois or have the ability to waive in
Strong academic credentials
Experience advising management or employer clients
Ability to handle multiple matters and competing priorities
Strong client-service mindset and business judgment
Interest in long-term professional growth and practice development
