Early Talent at Kohler
Kohler’s Leadership Development Programs are designed to accelerate the development of future leaders through structured, cross-functional rotational experiences that drive meaningful business impact. Participants join as full-time associates, gaining broad exposure across the organization while being supported through intentional development, mentorship, and a strong cohort experience.
Program Overview
The Finance Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is where early-career finance talent steps into the business—not just as analysts, but as trusted partners, problem-solvers, and future leaders. From day one, participants are placed close to the work that matters: helping teams understand performance, evaluate tradeoffs, telling the story behind the numbers, and turning insights into action.
The experience is intentionally hands-on and highly connected. FLDP participants rotate through meaningful assignments that build technical depth, business acumen, and leadership confidence while also creating a strong sense of community through their cohort, mentors, leaders, and peers across Kohler. It is a place to take ownership early, stretch into new challenges, and grow through experiences that make a visible impact.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare financial reporting, forecasts, and monthly analysis that help leaders see the story behind the numbers and make informed decisions.
- Partner with operating and functional leaders to understand business performance, identify trends, and turn financial analysis into practical recommendations.
- Evaluate business cases and investment opportunities, including capital projects, product launches, marketing initiatives, and other priorities that shape Kohler’s growth.
- Drive process improvement and contribute to strategic projects by asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and helping teams move from insight to action.
- Build broad finance capability across rotations while strengthening technical skills, business acumen, communication, and leadership confidence.
Program Structure & Experiences
Kohler's Leadership Development Programs are designed as two-year, full-time rotational experiences that provide broad exposure to the business while accelerating leadership readiness. Participants complete 3–4 cross-functional rotations, each lasting 6–8 months, where they contribute to impactful work aligned to business priorities.
Beyond on-the-job experience, participants engage in a structured, enterprise-wide development journey that includes:
- A week-long immersive onboarding experience with their cross-functional cohort
- Intentional semi-annual seminars and quarterly learning sessions throughout the program
- Exposure to senior leaders and key stakeholders across the organization
- Ongoing mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback
- Opportunities to build community through a cohort-based experience and networking events
The program culminates in a formal graduation experience, positioning participants for strategic placement into full-time roles aligned to their strengths, interests, and business priorities.
