Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to population-specific patients on the Acute Inpatient Units to include, Acute Care Medicine, Acute Care Telemetry, Acute Care Cardiac, Acute Care Cardiopulmonary, Chest Pain, Neuroscience, Neuro-Stroke, Neuro Spine, Observation, Ortho Surgical Trauma, Post-Surgical. Follows the Board of Nursing’s (BON) Standards of Nursing Practice utilizing the nursing process in care delivery. Maintains accountability for professional decisions and actions within the parameters of their legal scope of practice and in accordance with the federal, state, and local laws; rules and regulations; and policies, procedures and guidelines of Gulf Coast Division (GCD).
What you will do in this role:
- Administers treatments/medications/procedures within scope of practice.
- Coordinates care with interdisciplinary team members and ancillary services.
- Responsible for delegation within scope of practice to provide safe and effective care to patient population.
- Integrates behavior standards and AIDET fundamentals of service into all work activities.
- Authorized to access secure drug and biological storage areas when completing a medication management orientation and when necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Provider of Care:
- Use critical thinking approach to analyze clinical data and current literature as a basis for decision making in nursing practice.
- Acts as a patient advocate to implement and direct care to ensure patient safety in the clinical practice environment.
- Member of a Profession:
- Integrate the management of information and effective communication skills in daily practice.
- Serve as a healthcare advocate in monitoring and promoting safe, quality healthcare and services for the patients served.
- Attends staff meetings, in-services, facility town hall meetings.
- Timely completion of all assigned educational assignments.
- Seeks out opportunities to further enhance nursing education, skills, and knowledge.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
