Pathology - Cytopathology Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified Pathologist for ongoing locum coverage in a hospital-based pathology department. This opportunity includes surgical pathology sign-out, frozen sections, and cytopathology support within a collaborative pathology team.

Assignment Details:

• ASAP start
• Ongoing coverage until permanent provider hired
• Onsite weekday coverage required

Schedule:

• Monday Friday
• 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Night and weekend call required

Practice Setting:

• Hospital-based pathology department
• Trauma Level II facility
• Epic EMR

Work Details:

• Surgical pathology sign-out
• Frozen section interpretation
• Rapid onsite cytology evaluation
• Cytopathology sign-out as needed

Volume Expectations:

• surgical pathology cases/day
• 3 5 cytopathology cases/day
• 2 3 FNA cases/day

Annual Department Volumes:

• 9,000 surgical pathology cases
• 1,000 cytopathology cases
• 400 FNAs

Support Structure:

• Collaborative team with 3 full-time pathologists
• No APP supervision responsibilities

Requirements:

• Physician (MD/DO)
• Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology required

Credentialing:

• Emergency privileges available

Additional Notes:

• Coverage needed to replace outgoing physician
