The racquet operation features eight tennis courts and two pickleball courts, along with organized leagues, clinics, private lessons, camps, social events, and competitive programming for adults and juniors. LED court lighting, shade structures, and a strong team and junior-program culture support an active, year-round racquet community.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Arcis Golf is seeking an experienced, energetic, and service-driven Director of Racquet Sports to lead all aspects of the tennis and pickleball operation at River Place Country Club. This leader will establish the department’s strategic direction, elevate instruction and programming, develop and support the professional team, drive participation and revenue growth, and deliver exceptional member experiences on and off the courts.

The ideal candidate combines strong racquet-sports credentials with proven leadership, operational discipline, financial acumen, and a genuine ability to build relationships across an active private-club community.

Reporting relationship: This position reports directly to the General Manager and collaborates closely with Arcis Golf’s regional and national racquet-sports leadership to align departmental strategy, programming, financial performance, and member-experience standards.

• Lead a comprehensive tennis and pickleball program serving juniors and adults of all ages and skill levels

• Create an energetic, welcoming, and service-focused culture that strengthens member connection

• Partner with club leadership to align racquet programming with River Place’s broader lifestyle experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute the strategic vision, annual business plan, and programming calendar for tennis and pickleball

• Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate racquet professionals and support staff

• Deliver and oversee private lessons, group instruction, clinics, camps, leagues, tournaments, team practices, and social events

• Expand adult and junior participation while retaining existing players and strengthening the pathway from beginner to competitive play

• Build strong relationships with members, captains, families, guests, and community partners

• Manage departmental budgets, labor, lesson and program revenue, retail activity, scheduling, and performance reporting

• Maintain high standards for court presentation, safety, equipment, inventory, and the overall racquet facility

• Collaborate with membership, marketing, food and beverage, fitness, golf, and events teams to create integrated club experiences

• Act as a visible, engaged ambassador for River Place Country Club and Arcis Golf

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of five years of progressive racquet-sports experience, including at least two years in a leadership or management position within a private club, resort, academy, or high-volume racquet-sports operation.

• Strong tennis teaching and programming background; pickleball knowledge and experience are highly valued

• Proven ability to grow participation, revenue, member satisfaction, and team performance

• Excellent communication, organization, scheduling, and relationship-building skills

• Experience managing budgets, payroll, pricing, retail, events, and departmental reporting

• USPTA, PTR, PPR, or other recognized professional certification preferred

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, leagues, and special events

• A positive, visible, hands-on leadership style and a passion for exceptional member service

WHY RIVER PLACE AND ARCIS GOLF?

• Join an Austin club benefiting from a major Arcis Golf investment, including upgraded dining and social spaces, an expanded two-story fitness center, restorative amenities, and enhanced retail.

• Lead racquet sports within a complete Hill Country lifestyle experience featuring a new tennis center, championship golf, aquatics, wellness, dining, and family programming.

• Shape the future of an active tennis and pickleball community with strong adult, junior, team, instructional, and social programming

• Collaborate with racquet-sports leaders across the Arcis Golf portfolio and access meaningful professional-development and career-growth opportunities

• Bring new ideas, energy, accountability, and hospitality to a highly visible leadership role
