Job Description
SUMMARY
Quality Technician I are entry-level technicians who are able to perform some complex manual inspection tasks as well as operating more sophisticated equipment such as manual CMMs, CNC CMMs, and optical comparators.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operation of manual and CNC CMMs. Setup and operation of Optical Comparators. Use of inspection tools, including, but not limited to: height gauges, calipers, pin gauges, thread gauges, and countersink gauges. Completion of inspection reports and other required paperwork. Acting as an example to the rest of the plant on use of procedures, following rules and policies, and cleanliness.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
A college degree in a technical field is helpful but not required. High school diploma is the minimum education level for this position. Experience in inspection or calibration is helpful. Attention to detail, organization, and a high degree of work ethics are essential.
Language Skills
This position requires the ability to read and interpret technical and legal documents, including contracts, design drawings, and specifications.
Software/Analytical Skills
Proficiency with MS Excel and the ability to learn and operate proficiently in less common software packages is essential. Common software for this position will include MCOSMOS.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to make decisions based upon incomplete data is important in this position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee should be able to move items up to 50 lbs. Employee will be required to pass an annual eye examination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is on our production floor, which includes both areas of climate control and areas that are less controlled. This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking.
