Job Summary

The Cafeteria Worker performs a variety of duties related to the safe preparation, assembly, distribution, and service of food for hospital patients, visitors, and staff.

This role supports daily food service operations by maintaining high standards of customer service, food safety, sanitation, and operational efficiency while working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble, and serve food and beverages.
• Work in cafeteria, tray line, dish room, and kitchen areas as needed.
• Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Follow HACCP food safety standards and department policies.
• Stock food stations and assist with meal service setup and cleanup.
• Operate dish machines and other food service equipment as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service and support departmental goals.
• Participate in training, meetings, and cross-training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous food service, cafeteria, hospitality, healthcare, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to push food carts and transport supplies throughout the facility.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
