Master Inkjet Technician ($1,000 Hiring Bonus)

Job Summary:

The Master Inkjet Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repairs, establishing specifications, and training associated with Ink Jet systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and log all periodic maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and perform all repairs on all ink jet heads.
  • Log all history of repairs and PM’s, maintain logbook for each machine.
  • Provide training for all shifts in ink jet application and print and label application equipment.
  • Responsible for the testing and qualifying of materials and supplies.
  • Build templates as needed.
  • Perform fluid inventory and pass orders on to purchaser.
  • Be available by phone for troubleshooting and be available to come in, if a phone call does not work.
  • Prepare step-by-step documentation for set-up, use, and troubleshooting of inkjet units and controllers, and update as needed.
  • Train a back-up for both 1st and 2nd shifts and keep the back-ups up-to-date on changes.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping attitudes and practices.
  • Support the CJK Group Core Values effort throughout the Company.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, while maintaining an overall awareness of safety within the workplace.
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required including assisting and operating on production line or equipment as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma or GED/HiSET required.
  • Previous experience in Printing, specifically Finishing operations required.
  • Good working knowledge of and experience with Finishing Department machinery.
  • Ability to become proficient with the organization’s operating system with training.
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proven mechanical ability required.
  • Proven electrical skills required.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Ability to perform work productively and safely.
  • Reliable; good attendance is required.
  • Required to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to a maximum of 20 lbs. frequently.
  • Continuous standing required.
  • Frequent walking and stooping required.
  • Occasional sitting, crouching, and reaching/working overhead required.
  • Good visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
  • Work environment involves exposure to excessive noise, being near moving machinery, and exposure to potential arm and wrist fatigue.
  • Must wear hearing protection and safety shoes.
