Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Quality Engineer to join our team in Carlstadt, NJ.This is a highly collaborative role that involves significant time on the production floor, working closely with both the product and team members, with a strong focus on requirements conformance and delivery.This is not a traditional desk job; active engagement, problem-solving, and hands-on involvement are essential to success in this position.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy and is well suited for disciplined, self-starting individuals. ARDE fosters a collaborative environment, and team members are always willing to support one another in achieving the overall goal.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.
  • Assigned to a build project between a single vessel to a few hundred.
  • Work with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Shop Floor Managers to facilitate the build, test, qualification and shipment of product. This is a 60/40 Desk/Floor position with active and vibrant interaction daily with Shop Floor crew and Engineering departments.
  • Creation, Submission of Acceptance Document packages to the customer.
  • Administration of Nonconforming product/Deviation process for assigned projects, with the solution, administration and facilitation of progress of resolution.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Physical contact inspection tools, such as Caliper, Micrometer, depth gauges, surface finish profilometer, Pin gauges.
  • Working knowledge and experience of Inspection tools such as Comparator, Bridge and Portable CMM, and Light-Scan are beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience of Metal manufacturing such as Horizontal Turning, GTAW welding, Milling, Electron Beam Welding, CNC Machining, Roll forming, Pressure Forming, and Heat Treatment are beneficial.
  • Knowledge and experience of Carbon Fiber wrapping is an advantage but not expected.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • First Article Inspection per AS9102 and or PPAP required
  • Experience with Auditing Internal and External

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Background in Quality Engineering in Aerospace, Automotive or Military industries
  • Quality Management Systems ISO9001/AS9100/IATF-16949 with 5+ years experience preferred, with a working knowledge of each clause and interpretation.
  • Experience in composite wrap inspection, beneficial but not expected.
  • Experience in Borescope / Videoscope inspection beneficial but not expected
