Hematologist/Oncologist - Salisbury, NC | Sign-On Bonus & Up to $200K Student Loan Repayment
The Salisbury VA Health Care System is actively recruiting a full-time Hematologist/Oncologist committed to delivering outstanding care to our nation's Veterans. Hematology & Oncology Job Duties:
Provide consultation, clinical assessment, and treatment in Hematology and Oncology for inpatient and outpatient veterans.
Manage acute and chronic health conditions, order/interpreting labs and diagnostic studies, and coordinate referrals.
Conduct patient follow-up, promote health and disease prevention, and educate patients, families, and staff.
Stay informed about available clinical research and trials for veterans.
Administrative Functions:
Serve as acting section chief as needed.
Guide and supervise advanced practice providers, medical students, and residents.
Participate in committees, facility improvement programs, and ensure high-quality customer service.
Adhere to privacy and information security requirements.
Develop/evaluate personal goals and participate in ongoing education.
As supervisor, manage leave, staff selection, promotions, and adapt work schedules as needed.
Work Schedule:
* Four-day work week within the Monday-Friday timeframe. Specific daily hours may be negotiated at the time of appointment.
Preferred Experience: ABIM board certification in Hematology and Medical Oncology Or dual-board eligibility following fellowship training in adult Hematology & Oncology.
Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship, with non-citizens considered only when qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
Education: Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
Licensure: Unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency: Completion of an accredited residency program in a core specialty.
Board Certification: Board-certified or board-eligible in Hematology Oncology.
