Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2340 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: Central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Prefer candidates who have Epic experience and travel experience on a MedSurg floor; if they have experience in a Level I trauma center, will consider without travel experience as long as they have Epic experience.

Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 and 1:5-6 from 23-0730. Acute care gen-med patient population includes cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute resp failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health, and addictions. Common drips: Heparin, Lasix; no titration required. PCTs assist with vital signs, accuchecks, bladder scans, and ADLs; ratio 1:8-10. BiPAP/Cpap for sleep apnea, inhalers, and suctioning. House-wide telemetry is monitored remotely; RN can view strips on pack or computer. Phillips monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend – Sat/Sun for days and Fri/Sat for nights. Holiday requirement varies. No call.

Floating Requirements: Rotation to any other acute care gen med area (nephrology, neuro, ortho, oncology).

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
