Job Title:

TBS Intern | Bilingual Spanish

Division/Program:

Therapeutic Behavioral Services

Starting Compensation:

19.00 - 19.70 USD Per Hour

Working Location:

San Jose: South San Jose Center ( In-person position )

Working Hours/Shift:

Part-Time, 16 hours per week

What you bring to SBHG (qualifications):

Education:

  • Enrolled in an accredited BA, BS, program in the mental health field

License:

  • A valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance, with a driving record that consistently meets the agency's eligibility policy.

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Support Counselor Trainee is responsible for working with children in placement to provide a large variety of services ranging from behavior management, crisis intervention, self-help skill building, and other services as needed to provide “whatever it takes” to make a successful placement for the child. The Support Counselor Trainee works under the supervision of the TBS Coordinator and is a part of the child’s treatment team.

  • Population Served: Works with clients ages 5-21. 

  • Facility & Setting: Community, school, and home-based services. 

  • Clinical Services: Focus on replacing or extinguishing behaviors.
