Location: Helen Porter Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing, Middlebury, Vermont

In this key leadership role, you’ll design and implement engaging educational programs, mentor nursing staff, and ensure our team provides the highest quality care. You’ll also serve as the facility’s Infection Preventionist, overseeing infection control practices to keep our residents and team safe.

💡 What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement the facility’s education plan to support ongoing staff learning and development.

  • Facilitate engaging in-service trainings, orientation programs, and skill development sessions.

  • Lead the infection prevention and control program — monitor, educate, and ensure compliance with all standards.

  • Collaborate with leadership to promote a culture of safety, excellence, and teamwork.

  • Serve as a resource and mentor for clinical staff across all departments.

🎓 Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

  • Current RN license (or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont).

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) preferred.

  • Completion of an Infection Preventionist Certificate (can be completed upon hire).

  • At least 2 years of nursing experience in skilled nursing or healthcare required.

  • Prior experience in education and/or infection prevention strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills; prior management experience a plus.
