Job Description:
The Performance Management Business Partner is the embedded performance management advisor for an assigned business function. The role partners with leaders, HR Business Partners, Learning & Development, and Talent Management leaders to drive adoption of RaceTrac's performance philosophy, processes, and tools.
This role strengthens accountability, performance outcomes, manager capability, and continuous feedback through consulting, data, organizational diagnostics, and practical implementation support. It owns in-function adoption and performance diagnostics, while enterprise process design, standards, and Workday configuration remain with the Senior Manager, Performance Management.
What You'll Do
Performance Management Consulting
Serve as the primary performance management advisor for assigned business functions, engaging directly and with or through HR Business Partners.
Coach leaders on goal setting, ongoing feedback, performance development, accountability, and performance discussions.
Support review and calibration processes to ensure consistent application of enterprise standards.
Help leaders identify and address performance issues affecting business outcomes.
Reinforce performance expectations and accountability practices across assigned client groups.
Organizational Performance Diagnostics
Analyze performance and talent data to identify function-level trends, risks, and opportunities.
Evaluate organizational effectiveness through performance outcomes, capability assessments, and manager feedback.
Partner with leaders and HR Business Partners to identify barriers affecting team performance and execution.
Recommend practical interventions that strengthen performance, accountability, and organizational effectiveness.
Manager Capability & Performance Culture
Strengthen leader capability in coaching, feedback, goal alignment, and performance management.
Partner with Learning & Development to address capability gaps identified through data and leader feedback.
Promote practices that support a high-performance culture.
Facilitate discussions that improve consistency and quality in performance decisions.
Technology & Process Enablement
Partner with HR Technology, the Talent Product Owner, and the Performance Management COE to support adoption of Workday-enabled processes.
Provide business feedback on system usability, reporting, workflows, data quality, and manager experience.
Identify opportunities to improve adoption and effectiveness through technology or process enhancements.
Support testing, rollout, and change adoption related to performance management updates.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with HR Business Partners, Learning & Development, Succession Management, HR Technology, and business leaders.
Coordinate with Succession Management Business Partners so calibration and talent-review conversations are connected rather than duplicated.
Escalate enterprise performance opportunities and challenges to the Senior Manager, Performance Management.
Represent business needs in performance process improvement discussions.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
Five or more years of experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, Performance Management, Leadership Development, HR Business Partnering, or related disciplines.
Experience consulting with managers and leaders on talent or organizational effectiveness topics.
Experience using workforce or talent data to develop recommendations.
