Job Description:

The pediatric/PICU registered nurse provides care to infants, children, and adolescents on the pediatric med-surg floor and in the pediatric intensive unit (PICU). The pediatric nurse is responsible to assess, plan and provide nursing care for children who are suffering from a wide variety of conditions including diseases, illnesses, and recovery from procedures.

Education:
▪ Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
Experience:
▪ No prior experience required
Skills:
▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
▪ Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
▪ Exhibits valuable time management skills
▪ Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
▪ Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:       

  ▪ Required: Must take and pass NCLEX exam within 90 days of nursing school graduation and BLS must be obtained within 90 days
