Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years minimum with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral experience. First-time travelers considered only if very experienced in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases. Vasoactive and sedation drug administration, sterile technique, air management, laser and lithotripsy atherectomy, and cardiac cath lab and peripheral IV skills required.

Required Credentials: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing.

Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit and shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit and facility. Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler. Time-off requests must go through the manager.

Unit Details: Patient population includes coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, diagnostic cath procedures, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease, Impella insertion, and LVAD insertions. Uses IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra. Uses Epic Cupid, Alaris, and Omnicell.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every 4th weekend. On-call 1-2 days per week from 1630-0600 and every 4th weekend from 1630 Friday to 0600 Monday am. Possibly 1 holiday per assignment. Day/night rotation. Usually 4 weeks of days in a 6-week period and 2 weeks of nights. Weeks are typically grouped together to minimize switching between days and nights.
