Veterinary Technician - Cardiology

This position is eligible for up to a $5000.00 sign on bonus!

Join the Cardiology Specialty Team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) and support advanced diagnostics, treatment, and patient care in a collaborative specialty environment.

You ll work alongside board-certified veterinary cardiologists and the cardiology team to provide comprehensive care from cardiac imaging and diagnostics to treatment and client education.

PVESC is growing! Our new 42,000-square-foot hospital is opening soon, bringing expanded specialty services, new opportunities, and an exciting next chapter for our team.

What You ll Do

• Assist with echocardiograms, ECGs, telemetry, and Holter monitoring
• Perform and support cardiac diagnostics, including thoracic radiographs
• Assist with advanced patient histories, exams, and diagnostic triage
• Administer medications and monitor patient response
• Assist with cardiac catheterization and other advanced procedures
• Maintain and troubleshoot cardiology equipment
• Collect blood and samples and perform basic laboratory testing
• Provide compassionate client communication and education
• Support general patient care across the specialty department

What We re Looking For

• Licensed/credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant
• Cardiology or specialty experience preferred, but enthusiasm to learn is valued
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Familiarity with veterinary software systems
• Ultrasound or endoscopy experience a plus
• Compassionate, proactive, and team-oriented approach

Schedule & Compensation

• Tuesday Friday or Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM 6:30 PM (schedule based on hospital needs)
• Some holidays required
• $22 $38/hour, based on experience and licensure
• Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus, based on experience and credentials
