Full job description
Position Overview
The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern supports initiatives focused on enhancing operational performance, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness across the organization. This role provides hands-on experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvement opportunities that improve productivity, quality, safety, and operational performance.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, measure performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and value stream mapping activities to eliminate waste and optimize business processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to implement and sustain process improvements.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, process maps, standard work instructions, performance metrics, and reports while supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and Lean/Six Sigma concepts is preferred.
