Job Summary: This position may work in one of the following modalities: Diagnostic, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine. Duties will be consistent with the modality in which incumbent will be working. Candidates must meet the requirements of the modality in which they will be working. This position will report to the modality manager.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of assigned modality imaging while adhering to department protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self and others. Performs imaging exams consistent to assigned modality in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performs post processing of data and ensures proper patient identification is recorded. Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient‘s needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and hand washing policies. Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum Education:
Accredited Program Radiologic Technology
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Clarification on above requirements: For Diagnostic, CT, IR, Mammo: ARRT (R) For MRI: ARRT (R) or ARMRIT For Nuclear Medicine: CNMT through NMTCB or ARRT (N) Upon Hire Required
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year Experience in Radiology Preferred
