AS400 Technology Specialist

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Technology Specialist to support IT service, application maintenance, batch operations, and production support activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AS400/iSeries technologies, DB2/400, and COBOL/400, along with proven experience in batch monitoring, issue resolution, application maintenance, and enhancement.

The role will also involve work tracking, SLA adherence, coordination with offshore teams, and ensuring timely resolution of operational and application-related activities.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with AS400 / IBM i
• Experience with DB2/400
• Strong knowledge of COBOL/400
• Experience with AS400 batch monitoring and troubleshooting
• Application maintenance and enhancement experience
• Production support and incident resolution
• Experience with work tracking and SLA management
• Ability to coordinate and manage tasks across onsite/offshore teams
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Preferred Skills

• Additional experience with AS400/iSeries technologies
• Advanced COBOL/400 development and troubleshooting experience
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments
• Knowledge of AS400 hardware setup and related operational activities

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor AS400 batch processes, identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and implement timely fixes.
• Perform application maintenance, enhancements, and production support activities.
• Take ownership of assigned applications and ensure timely tracking and resolution of issues and tasks.
• Coordinate with offshore teams, assign and track activities, and ensure adherence to SLAs.
• Maintain accurate work status, operational documentation, and task tracking.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to resolve application and production issues.
• Support compliance with established operational processes, standards, and service-level requirements.
• Participate in issue analysis, root-cause identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience Requirements

• 8–10 years of relevant IT experience
• Strong experience working with AS400/IBM i, DB2/400, and COBOL/400
• Demonstrated experience in production support, batch monitoring, application maintenance, and enhancements.
