Full job description
What you will do:
- Set coverage priorities for your team, determining which are the most important stories of the day and bringing resources to the coverage to ensure we own those stories.
- Coordinate with others to get graphics or videos where appropriate, leverage data, and ensure appropriate newsletter coverage, all to ensure our top stories are presented in the best way possible.
- Work with reporters who are assigned to the stories of the day to ensure they produce quality journalism.
- Help your team develop the muscles needed to deliver real-time news.
- Develop strategies to bring more eyeballs to our content. This includes coordinating with our counterparts at Bloomberg News.
You need to have:
- 7 years’ experience as an editor and manager in a news role.
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
- Effective change management skills and ability to help drive the group.
- Demonstrated ability to unpack complicated legal and government actions and help reporters make them interesting.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and influence news reporting and editing.
Compensation Range:
$135,000.00-$175,000.00Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process. Salary determination will be determined based on factors including but not limited to relevant experience, demonstrated skills related to the requirements of the role, education, certifications, and geographic location.
