Full job description
Position Qualifications
The Urology Hospitalist is responsible for providing comprehensive inpatient urologic care for Asante Rogue Reginal Medical Center. This physician manages acute urologic conditions, emergency consultations, inpatient surgical procedures, postoperative care, and collaborative care with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, and specialty providers. The Urology Hospitalist focuses exclusively on hospital-based patient care to improve access, patient outcomes, throughput, and continuity of care. The hospitalist will serve as the primary inpatient urology resource for the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Hospital Medicine, and Trauma Services. They will participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination activities and they will support quality improvement initiatives related to urologic care. They will also contribute to development of clinical pathways and evidence-based protocols.
Experience
3 or more years clinical urology experience is required
Experience in hospital-based urology practice is required
Experience working within integrated healthcare systems is required
Robotic and minimally invasive surgery experience is preferred
Education
Graduate from an approved ACGME accredited Urology residency program
Required Certification/Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified from American Heart Association
Current unrestricted MD/DO license
Board Eligible / Board Certified in Urology
Must obtain and maintain staff membership and appropriate privileges
Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs
Must meet all qualifications to participate in hospital's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage
