Short Description

The Educator Resuscitation Education functions as a leader in all components of American Heart Association (AHA) courses (ACLS/BLS/PALS/PEARS): primary responsibility includes lecture of all required AHA class content, initial mega code demonstration; group control skills; knowledge and facility with all Life Support clinical and medical devices and equipment; setting up and using educational presentation tools; creating, presenting, and leading case-based scenarios, case discussion stations, skills instruction and skills evaluation stations, practice stations, remediation stations, and written examinations; the educational philosophy of the Life Support training center; and relevant policies and procedures for conducting AHA courses. Travel to community and Ambulatory sites required. Evening and weekends required as needed

Experience Required

  • Instructors need to demonstrate mastery in all skills for the courses they teach. Instructors need to teach AHA materials correctly and as outlines in the appropriate Instructor Manual and Lesson Maps.
  • Instructors must be able to test students effectively and maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism when teaching AHA courses.
  • Instructors need to be able to manage time, space, materials, and paperwork in compliance with American Heart Association guidelines.

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma preferred

License/Certification Requirements

  • American Heart Association BLS
  • Certified by the American Heart Association as an instructor in one or more of the following: ACLS or PALS
