Full job description
About the Company
DeerwoodWaco is a physician-owned women's health group founded in Waco in 2012, offering obstetrics and gynecology, fertility and aesthetics under one roof. The practice has grown by responding to what its patients needed: an in-house laboratory and sonography department, then aesthetics in 2020, then fertility services in 2024 to widen access to IUI and IVF in the region. It is a community practice with long-standing patient relationships, not a corporate group.
About the Position
DeerwoodWaco - OBGYN is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible, full-time, full-scope Obstetrician-Gynecologist to join our established private practice. You will join a collegial team of three practicing OB/GYN physicians and three midlevel providers. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who wants a strong clinical partnership, a manageable call schedule, and a well-equipped in-office surgical and diagnostic suite, within a community that values long-term relationships with its physicians.
Call schedule: pager call shared among the practice's physicians, 1 weekend in 4, and 1 weeknight per week, plus the possibility of 1 additional weeknight every third week as second call behind a midlevel provider.
In-office laboratory, sonography department, hysteroscopy suite, and LEEP capabilities - minimizing unnecessary referrals and keeping care in-house.
Clinic hours run 8:20 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with patient mix customizable within reason to fit your interests and strengths.
4.5 clinical work days per week, with a half day in the OR once weekly.
Average of approximately 15 deliveries per month, per provider.
Affiliated with Baylor Scott & White - Hillcrest, approximately 2 miles from the clinic, with Level III maternity designation and Level III NICU on site.
Two Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians and Urogynecology available at the hospital for consultation and referral.
Required Skills and Experience
M.D. or D.O. with completion of an accredited OB/GYN residency program.
Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Active or eligible Texas medical license, or willingness to obtain one.
Strong interest in and comfort with GYN surgery preferred.
Commitment to practicing in the community for a minimum of 3 years.
Responsibilities
Full-scope obstetric and gynecologic care, from well woman exams through cesarean delivery and VBAC.
Surgical cases in the in-office suite and in the weekly operating room time.
Obstetric coverage under the shared call schedule described above.
Collaboration with the practice's fertility and aesthetics divisions for internal referral.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary.
Employer-paid health insurance for the employee.
401(k) with a 4% employer match.
4 weeks of paid vacation.
Professional liability (malpractice) insurance covered through Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT).
Dental, vision, and disability plans available for enrollment via payroll deduction.
