Full job description
Summary
We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to play a pivotal role in one of the most significant transformation programs in our organization's history.
As we modernize our core business systems through a large-scale ERP transformation, you'll work at the heart of the program, partnering with business stakeholders, technology teams, and delivery partners to understand how our business operates today and help design how it will operate tomorrow.
This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex business challenges and is motivated by delivering tangible outcomes rather than producing documentation for documentation's sake.
If you're commercially minded, naturally curious, and confident engaging with stakeholders at every level, we'd love to hear from you.
Changes made: organisation to organization, programme to program (both instances), and modernise to modernize. I also fixed "Life as an Business Analyst" to "Life as a Business Analyst," since that was a grammar slip independent of the spelling conversion.
Essential Job Functions
You'll act as the bridge between the business and technology teams, ensuring our ERP solution delivers real business value across key operational functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand operational challenges, strategic priorities, and future business requirements.
- Run workshops, interviews, and process discovery sessions to capture current and future state processes.
- Analyze complex business processes across retail, wholesale, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, procurement, inventory, and finance functions.
- Translate business requirements into clear, prioritized user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Challenge existing ways of working, identifying opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve business processes.
- Collaborate closely with Commercial Business Experts, Directors of Operations, Business Leadership, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Developers, and third-party implementation partners throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support solution design, ensuring proposed ERP capabilities align with business objectives and operational needs.
- Facilitate decision making by balancing business priorities, technical constraints, and program timelines.
- Manage requirements through change, ensuring traceability from discovery through to implementation.
- Support testing, business readiness, user acceptance testing (UAT), and successful business adoption.
- Identify risks, assumptions, dependencies, and impacts across workstreams, proactively escalating where appropriate.
- Drive continuous improvement and champion best practice business analysis throughout the program.
Education/Experience
- Experience as a Business Analyst delivering complex ERP transformation programs.
- Experience working within retail, wholesale, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, supply chain or another high-volume product-based environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end operational processes including inventory, purchasing, warehousing, order management and fulfilment.
- Demonstrable experience eliciting, documenting and managing business requirements using a range of business analysis techniques.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and build trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Outstanding workshop facilitation, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen, with the ability to understand how technology enables operational performance.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.
- A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset that balances quality with pace.
- Confidence working in ambiguous environments where priorities evolve as programs progress.
