Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $1900 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Basic cardiac rhythm required; traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance.

Unit Details: - Adult med-surg/tele patient population includes acute and chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and common co-morbidities including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. - Required clinical skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, IV insertion and care, central line management, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, heart-rate titratable drips only, wound care, post-op monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation. - Unit equipment includes Alaris pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital signs monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, PCA pain management, and suction machines. - Support resources include CNAs, a unit secretary from 7a-11p with housewide call secretary coverage 11p-7a, lab collect phlebotomy with nurses drawing from CVLs, a PICC team, discharge nurses, a resource team that floats to all units, and central telemetry monitoring. - Charge nurse may have patients.

Shift & Scheduling: - 6 weekend shifts in a 6 week period (6 out of 12 shifts). - Must work one day of each major holiday: Thanksgiving Day 11/26 or Day after Thanksgiving 11/27, and Christmas Eve 12/24 or Christmas Day 12/25, and New Year’s Eve 12/31 or New Year’s Day 1/1. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Floating to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification RN-BC
