Job Description
Ameriprise Financial has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Actuary to join the team! In this role you'll be part of our Corporate Actuarial valuation team responsible for developing, improving, operating, and documenting a variety of complex actuarial models. You'll perform actuarial, financial, and risk analysis, and communicate the results to others across the company. The Staff Actuary will serve as the subject matter expert in assigned projects and may have an expanded scope and responsibility within a project.Key Responsibilities
- Play a major role on the team overseeing the UL/VUL GAAP reserve process by performing reserve calculations, conducting detailed analyses, and effectively communicating insights to leadership and stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Automating production and post‑production processes, including developing and maintaining analytical tools that support monthly reporting and explanations.
- Professional development to maintain Actuarial credentials.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of actuarial experience
- All Introductory ASA exams plus 3 Actuarial/Advanced ASA Exams or Requirements
- Validation by Educational Experience (VEE) coursework completion
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (4-years) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields.
- Positive relationship and communication skills in working with colleagues.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Excel, Python, Power BI, SQL and other database applications.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $107,000 - $147,100/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.Full-Time/Part-Time
