Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with any experience within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred.

Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. The unit cares for general-care and select IMC patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. RNs read their own telemetry strips. The unit is fast-paced, with many discharges and admissions each day. Medical diagnoses include pneumonia, diabetes, infection, hypertension, chest pain, heart failure, falls, failure to thrive, placement/guardianship, and alcohol withdrawal, among others. Surgical cases include hip, knee, and shoulder joint cases, neuro spine, bariatric, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia, and endocrine cases, among others. Unit equipment includes CPM, wound VACs, lifts, and Polar Care devices. Floor drips include insulin, heparin, and PCA; nurses care for these patients. The role participates in quality improvement initiatives and leads practice changes. The role collaborates in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend and holiday rotations are based on operational need.

Floating Requirements: Floating to EMH IP and UH IP is required.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
