Retail Supervisor

We serve a wide range of retail channels — including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics, and home centers — connecting manufacturers with retailers so consumers get access to the best products on the market.

Position Overview

The Retail Supervisor oversees and directs Retail Sales Representatives and Merchandisers within an assigned territory, ensuring all Client and Customer standards are met. This role partners closely with Business Development Managers, Clients, Store Managers, and retail staff to drive key business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development — Build strong relationships with trade partners and Clients, drive in-store retail excellence, ensure timely placement of new items, and see retail projects through to completion.
  • Client Audits — Manage and direct retail personnel, conduct store audits, and execute retail projects in support of Client goals.
  • Relationship Management — Strengthen brand presence by maintaining trade and Client relationships, including on-site Client visits.
  • Sales & Merchandising — Ensure products are fully stocked, correctly signed, properly faced, and set to schematic.
  • New Item Placement — Drive placement of new items across all authorized store locations.
  • Shelf Standards — Ensure shelf conditions align with Client schematic requirements.
  • Call Coverage — Schedule merchandisers and review coverage reports to ensure consistent store visits.
  • Budget Management — Manage territory budget and expenses, aiming to stay under budget with strong expense control.
  • Administration & Reporting — Complete accurate, timely paperwork, including reports, recaps, itineraries, timesheets, and expense reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hire, retain, train, coach, and develop direct reports using company processes and tools
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to indirect reports as needed

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel and driving required (up to 30%)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work independently
  • Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, internet)
  • Skilled at gathering data, compiling information, and preparing reports

Work Environment

This role involves a mix of office, field, retail, and warehouse settings. Most days require significant physical activity, including lifting/pushing up to 50 lbs, extended standing, product demonstrations (including cooking), and occasional work in refrigerated or freezer environments. Proper safety practices are required at all times when handling products or cooking.
