Business Analyst

Job Description:

HITT is seeking a Business Analyst to join the team designing and building HITT’s proprietary project software platform. This platform will support critical business capabilities across pricing, budgeting, financial management, and related processes.

This is a hands-on role for a meticulous, business-focused BA who can translate business needs into clear requirements and help drive solutions from concept through delivery. The successful candidate will work directly in the system, gather requirements, support QA and testing, clear blockers to keep development, builds, and releases moving, and flex into project management responsibilities as needed — including driving test cycles, tracking timelines, and coordinating dependencies.

The platform will continue to evolve, but the mandate is clear: deliver a pricing and financial management platform that elevates the business of building. Reporting to Product Leadership, this role will partner closely with business stakeholders, field users, Product, Engineering, and System Integrator partners to translate high-value business problems into actionable requirements, and to deliver practical, intuitive solutions through rapid, iterative Agile cycles.

Because HITT builds software for builders, everything this role delivers must earn adoption in high-velocity, decentralized field environments—on jobsites, in trailers, and in offices—by users of many backgrounds. The specific components and feature-sets will evolve as HITT’s business and technology evolve; this role’s charge is durable: understand the business problem deeply, translate it clearly, and help the team keep shipping and raising the standard for what the platform can do.

Responsibilities

Discovery & Requirements

  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions, including workshops, interviews, and process walkthroughs.

  • Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria for the delivery team.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand current-state ("as-is") processes, identify gaps, and define future-state ("to-be") solutions.

  • Perform fit-gap analysis against existing platform functionality and recommend build-vs.-configuration approaches and process/system improvements.

  • Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers, and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them.

  • Ensure requirements are clearly documented, understood, and communicated across business and technology teams.

Testing & Release Management

  • Develop test scenarios and scripts; support system, integration, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Lead or coordinate UAT activities and ensure solutions meet defined business requirements.

  • Triage and document defects, partner with technology teams on resolution, and validate fixes.

  • Support data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and migration activities as needed.

  • Support release planning, cutover, implementation, and post-go-live (hypercare) activities.

  • Track timelines, milestones, dependencies, and action items across multiple delivery teams.

  • Coordinate requirements gathering, UAT, and timelines across multiple concurrent System Integrator (SI) delivery partners, managing handoffs and dependencies between teams.

  • Help clear blockers and keep development and release activities moving forward.

Stakeholder Engagement & Ongoing Optimization

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and end users, including frontline and field teams.

  • Spend time understanding how work is performed in practice, and translate those insights into better system solutions.

  • Maintain clear, current process documentation, functional requirements, training materials, and standard operating procedures.

  • Communicate status, risks, decisions, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Support user training and adoption efforts, and incorporate user feedback into the product backlog.

  • Monitor system usage and user feedback to identify opportunities to improve system functionality, business processes, and user experience.

  • Contribute to product team standards, processes, and best practices for business analysis and delivery.

  • Stay current on platform capabilities, releases, and relevant industry practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent experience considered.

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise software, technology, or business transformation initiatives.

  • Strong experience gathering and translating business requirements into actionable solutions and supporting the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.

  • Experience with QA/UAT, testing, defect resolution, and implementation.

  • Strong business process analysis, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across business and technology teams in an Agile or hybrid environment.

  • Construction management or other project-based/field-oriented industry experience preferred.
