Senior Technical Writer

As a Senior Technical Writer, you’ll create and maintain curated content that enables clients and employees to make the most out of Clearwater’s expansive product set. Reporting to the Technical Content Team Lead and working on a team of writers and creators, you own content end to end, from drafting through publication, partnering with product leads and SMEs to keep documentation in pace with releases. This is a hands-on writing role: you produce high-caliber content, continually raising the bar as we evolve with our the fast-paced AI-enabled FinTech landscape. 

Responsibilities

• Document complex financial technology products for both external and internal audiences, ensuring clients receive content with new SaaS releases.
• Draft content live in iterative working sessions with SMEs (product managers, engineers), translating complex financial technology topics into clear, concise language.
• Use AI tools to accelerate drafting and editing while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Maintain and evolve the knowledge base, including editorial style, taxonomy, hierarchy, and templating, consistent with team standards.
• Contribute to the team’s continual improvement of AI features, design strategy, style guide, acronym/jargon guide, and video library.
• Manage your own content pipeline through Jira, keeping documentation on pace with product releases.
• Mentor junior writers and provide editorial feedback to help maintain quality across the team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional technical writing experience, with an emphasis on tackling complex topics in clear, concise language for varied audiences.
• Strong editorial judgment and command of style, taxonomy, hierarchy, and formatting.
• Experience integrating AI tools, including Claude, into existing workflows for increased efficiency and consistency.
• A fast learner and collaborative team player.
• Comfortable working with a wide range of SMEs across product, engineering, and client services.
• Able to prioritize and deliver across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• A client-first mindset and the Three Cs: consistent, concise, clear.

Preferred Experience

• FinTech industry.
• Atlassian platform, including Confluence and Jira.
• Design/graphics/video tools experience, such as Figma, SnagIt, Canva, Loom, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• UI/UX writing.
• Markdown, HTML, CSS.
• Familiarity with code structure (preferably Java and/or Python), APIs, CLIs, IDEs, and GitLab.

 

Salary Range

$102,000.00 - $144,000.00

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
