Shift: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Paragon is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Required Skills/Experience: 18+ months of recent Med/Tele exp.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Rural hospital experience preferred.

Required Credentials: You are required to pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. No previous employment allowed at this facility.

Unit Details: Rural hospital; Med/Tele units rely heavily on travelers, and staff continuity may be limited. Common diagnoses include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and Med/Surg telemetry patients. Telemetry monitor techs monitor patients, but RNs must be able to read strips. PCTs are present at 12:1. CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow patients. Transitioning to Epic Oct 30th 2026.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 hours per week or 36/48 hours rotating per two weeks. Every other weekend required. Holidays as required. No call.

Floating Requirements: Will float to all Med/Surg units, possibly to PCU to care for Tele holds prior to transfer.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
