Position: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - Winder Ga.
Location: Winder, GA
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Pay: $27.15/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire (after 90 days)

Job Summary

We are hiring an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a client manufacturing facility in Winder, GA. This role performs general maintenance, welding, fabrication, and electrical troubleshooting on plant machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude and is comfortable diagnosing issues across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings and written instructions

  • Weld most materials as needed for repairs and fabrication

  • Support Continuous Improvement needs in areas of fabrication

  • Use machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, band saws, oxy-acetylene torches, grinders, and hand tools

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and equipment

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, including PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control panels

  • Install and upgrade electrical components and wiring according to safety standards and manufacturer specifications

  • Use measuring instruments to verify tolerances and specifications

  • Fabricate guarding for plant equipment

  • Work with the CI Manager and Safety Manager to audit equipment

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities as needed

  • Operate a fork truck, scissor lifts, and boom lifts

  • Modify equipment, carts, tools, or other manufacturing items as needed

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with preventive maintenance activities as needed

  • Perform general clean-up activities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Must Haves

  • General maintenance experience

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and written instructions

  • Welding skills across most materials

  • Ability to use machine shop equipment (lathes, milling machines, band saws, oxy-acetylene torch, grinders, hand tools)

  • Ability to use most measuring instruments

  • Ability to read and speak English

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally

  • Availability for Monday–Friday shift work and overtime as needed

  • Comfortable working in an environment with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, extreme heat, extreme cold, dust, and moderate to loud noise
